persi in troppa semplicità - lost in too much simplicity

Mk 12:28-34

A man of the law comes along and asks the Master

what the First of all commandmentss may be

all he needs is one, one commandment only

but Jesus is not content of giving him one only: he gives him two.
He cannot help it: love to God and love to neighbour are but two sides of the same coin

And that is not all: not only the Master gives two to the man who asked for one

He can't avoid putting an introduction to it - and what an introduction!

It's an ancient command, arguably the most ignored exactly by virtue of its being first:
"Listen!"

And with that one word, Jesus has alread lost many...

those who have no time

those who have no will

those who have no ears

Then he adds - as if the introduction hadn't been enough - a second bit:

"The Lord your God is one"

and of the fewest who had resisted to the first blow, he loses many:

those enslaved to themselves, their bodies, their own ideas

or - worst still - those enslaved to others, their bodies and their ideas. 

Yes, because many brains are on sale, these days.

Good Lord, your law of love is so simple

that we cannot keep up to it.

We have become so complicated that we got lost in your simplicity.

Un uomo della legge si fa avanti e chiede al Maestro

Quale sia il primo comandamento

Ne vuole uno, gliene basta uno

E Gesù glielo da, ma raddoppiato

Non ce la fa a staccare il primo dal secondo

Come due faccie di una medaglia,
l’amore a Dio e l’amore al prossimo sono fusi insieme

Ma non solo Gesù a chi gli ha chiesto un comandamento gliene da due

Ci mette anche una signora introduzione,

un imperativo antico, forse il più disatteso perchè proprio primo

“Ascolta!”

Già lì ne ha persi tanti.

Quelli che non hanno tempo

Quelli che non hanno voglia

Quelli che non hanno orecchi

Poi aggiunge: “Il Signore Dio è uno”.

Qui ne perde tantissimi di quei pochi che non aveva perso ad “ascolta”

Quelli che sono schiavi di se stessi, del proprio corpo, delle proprie idee...

O – peggio ancora – quelli che sono schiavi degli altri, degli altrui corpi e delle idee pensate da altri. Cervelli in affitto

Signore, è tanto semplice la tua legge dell’amore

Ma noi siamo troppo complicati per le cose semplici

Che ci siamo persi nell’introduzione
